My 3 Years Online

2

It’s my blogiversary!

On this day 3 years ago, I ventured into my own little part of the internet. CollegeGirlKendra.com had been on my mind since I graduated from high school. I knew that I wanted a way to share my outfits and connect with other bloggers, specifically in college. Since I was major in Marketing/Fashion Merchandising, I knew that this blog would be a great addition to my portfolio.  Little did I know, it would end up being so much more than that.

My first year of blogging was one full of confusion and learning. I joined Facebook groups and learned as much as I could about the bloggersphere. I followed bloggers in my niche to get a feel for what already being put out there. Was there a set theme that I had to follow? Did people post every day? I had a million questions and a million ideas that I wanted to execute.  With little no strategy, I took off. I posted 2-3 times a week and really started to enjoy putting together my favorite looks to share.

Three years later, here I am as Coffee&Kendra. I say this to friends, potential bloggers, and my clients — rebranding my blog was my greatest decision. Once I rebranded my blog, I was able to secure my niche and really start to develop my blog. Since rebranding, I’ve landed sponsored campaigns from brands like Clarisonic, Kat Von D, Eve Hair NYC and more! I’ve growing my social media following as well as my daily blog views!

The biggest thing that I’ve learned from blogging is this : BE YOURSELF. There are a ton of bloggers and influencers in your niche, but nobody does what you do. Nobody produces the same type of content that you. Imposter syndrome is alive and well, but you don’t have to fall into the trap. Being yourself is so enjoyable and rewarding. Each time I create a post or even plan an outfit, I find so much joy in knowing that this is me and what I truly enjoy.
